A picture, a place and a plan
LifeArtwork brings together a small selection of open-access museum works and practical notes for planning a reproduction. The aim is to help you enjoy the picture and make deliberate choices about size, shape, crop and framing.
Clear sources
Artwork facts and images are linked to the source museum. The collection pages distinguish original object measurements from the dimensions of a reproduction. Guide examples are planning exercises; the printer or framer confirms the specifications of the product you choose.
How to use the site
Start with the artwork collection or bring a picture you already have to the proportion calculator. Keep the source file and measurements together. Open the source museum page for its available download and terms, and arrange any printing or framing with the provider you choose.
